Our Story

All I wanted to do was buy a beautiful white top…that’s how it all began. So, I went to department stores, boutiques and even discount stores and couldn’t find a thing. So, I was traveling all thru Europe and everywhere I visited from Italy to France to Greece everyone was wearing “white” cotton and linen apparel! 

I had a previous background in international wholesale/retail, and had been hoping to open a store/brand of my own but was not sure where or what that might look like except that it would be European.  But, since I was inspired by seeing all the “white” on my trip…I was convinced a French inspired white apparel store with amazing gifts and accessories was what was missing in the Florida market.  And I was right. 

I received a call while I was in Turkey that a space had just come available in Jupiter, Florida.  I had my daughter, Christina preview the opportunity and the next thing you know I had signed a lease half way around the world for our first store. 

I asked Christina, (who was previously a SCAD graduate and  fashion trained in NYC) to be my business partner.  We came up with a name coton frais (meaning fresh cotton in French) and we were in business!  

Together we are a women owned mother/daughter enterprise. 

We now have multiple stores, our website and wholesale operation, expanded into other categories like baby and home. And added colors to our resort wear collection.  We moved all of our apparel production out of China, and now produce predominately in Europe.  

Plans for the future?  More stores and more fabulous “everything”!
